CONCLUSIONS & AFTERTHOUGHTS

Well, through testing this combo drive for the last three weeks, it has been nothing but a delight. Nothing but clear sailing and complete enjoyment. Burning a CD at a full speed 32x has never brought about a bad burn thanks in part to the huge 8Mb buffer and the included buffer underrun technology. One thing I will have to stress here is that this drive is amazingly quiet. I mean "bend over and put your ear next to it" quiet. And with the really quick loading, ejecting and 40+X data transfer, you will be flying in no time with this beauty of a all-in-one unit. My hats are all off for Samsung's attention to quality and detail. To anyone in the market for a combo drive, I would have to say that this drive would be a really good buy if you can find it. It's kind of hard keeping something on the shelves that sells so well.

Pro's:

- Quiet
- Fast eject, load and data transfer rates
- relatively inexpensive
- Takes over for duty of two drives

Con's:

- Availability (find it if you can)
- Slower than expected burner times (but hey, it's a combo drive, not a dedicated burner)
